K is for... Kirsty

Kirsty was the daughter of Colin, Laird of the McLaren clan. She and her brother Alexander were helping their injured father escape from Culloden Moor, where the Jacobite forces had just been defeated by the Hanoverian army. Accompanying them in their flight was their young piper, Jamie McCrimmon.

Alexander was killed and the other men captured, along with the Doctor and Ben Jackson. Kirsty remained at liberty and joined forces with the Doctor's companion Polly to free their friends.

Kirsty and Polly were able to obtain some leverage over an English lieutenant named Ffinch, manipulating him into helping them.

Once reunited with the Doctor they planned to obtain weapons which they smuggled to a ship - the Annabelle - on which the Scots prisoners were to be transported to slavery in the West Indies.

Once the prisoners had been freed, they elected to take the ship to safety in France. Kirsty accompanied her father there, whilst Jamie decided to join the TARDIS crew.
