Fantastic news this afternoon - the first of the 1960's B&W seasons is next to be released as part of the Blu-ray Collection.
It will be Season 2, which comprises Planet of Giants, The Dalek Invasion of Earth, The Rescue, The Romans, The Web Planet, The Crusade, The Space Museum, The Chase and The Time Meddler.
That means two Dalek stories, adventures involving Susan, Ian, Barbara, Vicki and Steven (two companion departures and two companion arrivals), and the first rogue Time Lord story.
That's some set of episodes.
Sadly, as expected, the two missing episodes from The Crusade haven't been animated. It will be a soundtrack & telesnap reconstruction.
As well as the stories, what we are getting includes:
Matthew Sweet interviews x2: William Russell and Maureen O'Brien,
New documentary about the early years of the series,
Feature on 1960's merchandising,
Behind the Sofa
I've already pre-ordered. Amazon UK are giving a placeholder date of 31st Dec 2025, so hopefully it will be out later this year, as we've only had the one set so far in 2022.
