Thursday 11th August sees the release of the latest DWM Special Edition. This one looks at the many guest artists who have appeared in the series over the years. A number of them get singled out for more detailed attention. Three of them feature on the cover - so just another 97 to work out.
Presumably they will go for the bigger named stars who have guested, like Jacobi, McKellen, Suchet, and Glover, but I hope they also take the space to look at those great character actors who made multiple appearances in the show - actors such as Bernard Horsfall, Philip Madoc and Michael Sheard.
I was very worried that the next SE would be about the Character Options action figures from the revived series, as the last one had been all about the ones representing the Classic Era. For someone who doesn't collect these figures, it was very much a waste of money and paper. I had visions of the next SE having dozens of pages devoted to the multitude of variants of the Tenth and Eleventh Doctor figures ("Wow - this one's got different sneakers! Just got to buy that!").
Hopefully I am not tempting fate, and they do actually intend to release such a Special Edition in the near future...
