Series 4 came to an end today in 2008 with the Children of Time using the TARDIS to pilot the Earth back into its proper orbit.
The episode was called Journey's End, but all but one of them (the Metacrisis Doctor) would be seen again the following year, if only for a brief cameo in The End of Time Part II. The title really referred to Donna Noble, as all her memories of travelling in the TARDIS would be wiped.
She too would be back one more time in that David Tennant swan-song, and we all thought it the last we would ever see of her - but now know that there are a few new Donna episodes to come in 2023.
