To the envy of many a schoolboy, Kenny helped to blow up his school and wipe out most of his teachers. They, however, were actually man-eating shape-changing aliens who were using the school as a base, and who were enslaving the minds of Kenny's fellow pupils. These were the Krillitanes. They were attempting to harness the minds of the pupils in order to get them to solve the Skasis Paradigm - supposedly the theory of everything. To do this the children were being fed chips as part of their school dinners, which had been cooked in a special fat. Being overweight, Kenny had been banned from eating these chips, and so was immune to the effect they had on everyone else. He witnessed the true alien form of one of his teachers, Mr Wagner.
When the Krillitanes launched the final stage of their plan, Kenny warned the Doctor, who was accompanied by Rose, Mickey, plus Sarah Jane Smith and K9. Spotting their resemblance to bats, Kenny deduced that they would have very sensitive hearing, and so activated the fire alarm to overpower them and so allow the others to escape. It was K9 which actually blew up the school, destroying the Krillitanes, but Kenny's involvement gave him kudos with his friends.
