A couple of birthdays of significance today, of people who are sadly no longer with us: Sydney Newman, creator of Doctor Who (d.1997 aged 80) and John Scott Martin, "Supreme Dalek" and general monster man (d.2009 aged 82).
I was saddened to read that actor Michael Peake, who played the major domo Tavius in The Romans was only 48 when he died on this date, just two years after his Doctor Who appearance.
