K is for... Karvanista

A member of the Lupar race who were species-bonded to humans on Earth in the early 21st Century - meaning they were individually honour bound to save one of them. In appearance, they were tall bipedal canines.
The Doctor and her companion Yaz were hunting for Karvanista, as he held information about the organisation known as The Division, which had used the Doctor as an agent and later stolen her memories.
When a destructive force known as the Flux threatened all of creation, the Lupari headed for Earth, where their spaceships could be positioned like a protective shield above the planet. Karvanista made for Liverpool where his designated human - Dan Lewis - lived. The Doctor and Yaz homed in on Karvanista, who had transported Dan to his spaceship and left a trap - a weapon which miniaturised Dan's house.
As the Doctor investigated the Flux and its causes, she frequently encountered Karvanista as he remained bound to Dan, who was now travelling in the TARDIS.
The Doctor later discovered that the Lupar had been a fellow agent back in her Division days, accompanying her on missions. He admitted that he was unable to tell her anything about those times as he had been implanted with a device called a Synaptic Collider that would kill him should he reveal Division secrets.
The Sontarans and their ally, the Grand Serpent, attacked the Lupari fleet, killing everyone - leaving Karvanista the sole survivor of his race.
Once the Flux had been neutralised, and Karvanista had helped destroy the Sontaran fleet, he set off to travel the cosmos. He was accompanied by Vinder and his partner Bel, who had been helping the Doctor and her companions.
