Monster Spin-Offs?

File under "Rumour" for now, as a UK tabloid is reporting that Doctor Who's most famous monsters might be getting their own spin-off series. This has come from the Mirror, and a reporter who is generally more often right than wrong. It is all part of the Disney+ streaming deal. Something which might lend credence is the fact that Russell T Davies has spoken before about creating a "Doctor Who Universe" akin to the Marvel and Star Wars franchises. Aliens mentioned include Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans and Weeping Angels. These episodes would not feature the Doctor at all, but would be designed to show what these creatures get up to when the TARDIS isn't around.
If this does prove to be more than rumour, it might also open the door for past Doctors to get an outing. There has always been a demand to see more of Paul McGann's incarnation, for instance. Some old companions might also get another outing.
Not sure if there would necessarily be room on BBC 1 for too many spin-offs, so if this does come off then some of it at least might be exclusive to Disney+.

  1. Grand.
    Here's which I wish for:

    1. Some involving Davros and his Daleks. It be nice to see more on Skaro and the Time War

    2. Some involving Cybermen; the ones from The Tenth Planet, the ones from The Invasion, the ones from Revenge of the Cybermen sort, the Cybus ones, the Cyber-Legions, and the Cyber-Warriors.

    3. One involving Sontarans. it rock if we see some on Sontar, including the Grand Strategic Council and Sontaran High Command.

    4. Some involving Silurians, land and sea. It rock if there was a Silurian heroine; a scientist and warrior who fights to save lifes. Proof the Doctor's zero the only hero. One who treats humans as equals. Basically similar to the heroine of the 1999 Tarzan. An eccentric and virtuous one. And involving her ownign a 3rd eye, a throwback to ehr ancestors. And her able to speak to animals. And some prehistoric animals including dinosaurs and Ice Age giants be her allies; hinting she help inspire The Lost World. And she's in Edwardian times. And she knew the Doctor since his war form. And she can fight, using her 3rd eye and martial arts as well as melee weapons instead of guns.

    5. Some with Ice Warriors. It rock to see their societies including the leading members. LEading soldiers, but also lrods and ladies as well as royalty.

    6. Some with Raxacoricofallapartorians. More than jsut Slitheen. ti rock to go to their hoemworld. it evne rock if Maria Jackson was the first human to go there.

    7. Some involving Thals. Been so long since we saw them.

    8. Some with Weeping Angels inclduign their origin.

    9. Some with the Master, esepcialyl the War and Saxon ones.

    10. Some involving the Forest of Cheem.

    11. Some involving Draconians.

    12. Some involving Ogrons.
