In 1969 The Space Pirates moved on to its second instalment, which is the only episode of this story which survives intact in the archives.
We got our first proper look at Davros today in 1975, with the second episode of Genesis of the Daleks.
The rest of the episodes which made their debut today were from the Peter Davison era - Earthshock Part Three; The King's Demons Part One (which introduced Kamelion); and The Caves of Androzani Part Three (Davison's penultimate episode).
Today we wish actor Tony Osoba a very happy 75th birthday. He has appeared in the programme three times. The first was as the Movellan Lan in Destiny of the Daleks. He then featured in Dragonfire as Kracauer.
His most recent appearance was as the astronaut Duke in Kill The Moon, opposite fellow Glaswegian Peter Capaldi.
