On This Day... 11th July

There was more than one Hidden Danger lying in wait for the TARDIS crew in 1964. The City Administrator of The Sensorites was plotting against them, and the water they were about to drink had been poisoned.

Today we wish David Graham a very happy 97th birthday. As well as providing Dalek voices in most of the 1960's stories, and that of a Mechonoid, he featured twice on screen. The first was as Charlie the Barman in The Gunfighters, and the other was as Professor Kerensky in City of Death
He also provided vocals for Thunderbirds characters such as Brains and Parker, having previously worked on other Gerry Anderson shows. He is still working, providing the voice of Grandpa Pig on Peppa Pig.

Amongst those we lost on this date are Roy Purcell (Chief Prison Warder in The Mind of Evil, and the Time Lord President in The Three Doctors). He died in 2000, aged 81.
Two other Pertwee guest actors who passed away today were Ray Lonnen (Earth Security Officer Gardiner in Frontier in Space) - aged 74 in 2004; and John Breslin (UNIT Captain Munro in Spearhead from Space) - aged 80 in 2009.
We also lost Derek Pollitt (Driver Evans in The Web of Fear and scientist Caldera in Shada) - in 2010 aged 83; Collette O'Neil (Tanha in Snakedance) - in 2021 aged 81; and Hugh Morton (Sir John Gregson in The Seeds of Death) - in 1984, aged 81.
