K is for... Kemel

Kemel was the manservant of the wealthy Victorian scientist Theodore Maxtible, who resided in a mansion outside Canterbury in Kent. Kemel was tasked with trying to stop the Doctor's companion Jamie from rescuing Victoria - daughter of Maxtible's friend Edward Waterfield. This was part of an elaborate scheme by the Daleks to identify the "Human Factor" - that unique set of attributes which had combined to defeat them so often in the past. The Doctor had to monitor Jamie's emotions and behaviours as he made his rescue attempt. As well as Kemel, various booby-traps were also set up to provide the ultimate challenge. In saving Kemel from one of these traps, Jamie came to befriend the servant.
When everyone was transported to the Dalek homeworld of Skaro, Maxtible was turned into a mental Dalek. He killed Kemel by pushing him into a ravine.

Played by: Sonny Caldinez. Appearances: The Evil of the Daleks (1967).
  • This was Caldinez's only appearance which did not involve him being hidden under rubber and latex. He went on to feature in all four Ice Warrior stories of the classic era.
