It is being reported this morning that, as well as the previously rumoured 'Monsters' spin-off, RTD is planning a second show built around UNIT. This will star Jemma Redgrave as Kate Stewart, who we know features in an upcoming episode of the 14th series and / or a 60th Special.
Such a series was briefly contemplated in the later 1970's after Tom Baker became the Doctor and the series moved away from a contemporary Earth setting.
A UNIT series would allow for the occasional / cameo return of those companions who are around on 21st Century Earth, such as the members of Graham's "Companions Support Group".
