I was looking at the new teaser released today, and was wondering if this might actually be a bit of back-story for Richard E. Grant's character - Dr. Simeon. A lonely child who is contacted by the unknown alien presence? I'm far from expert, but the costumes look more mid-Victorian than late - and The Snowmen is set in the closing years of Victoria's reign. Then again I might just be reading too much into things.
