According to UK tabloid newspaper The Daily Mirror, there are plans to release two more animated stories in 2023 to mark the Diamond Anniversary. They are the late Hartnell historical The Smugglers, and the partially incomplete The Underwater Menace (parts 1 and 4 are missing). Both belong to Season 4.
Not sure of all the details, like who might be funding this, as BBC America were doing it until last year but recently pulled the plug.
Whilst I can understand the Troughton story being completed, I would never have thought of The Smugglers as an obvious candidate for animation. The Highlanders would have made a more likely one for me, what with it being the introduction for Jamie.
We should file under rumour for now...
