In a far distant galaxy a long-running war was waged between the Metalkind and the Fleshkind. They lived on twin worlds in the Tornado Nebula. The Metalkind were boron-based lifeforms. One day Sarah Jane Smith discovered a baby left on her doorstep. When it cried, it caused electrical equipment in the vicinity to go haywire. At the same time, one of the Metalkind arrived in a scrap metal merchants nearby. This event was investigated by Professor Celeste Rivers. A tramp had seen a huge robotic figure appear.
The creature began hunting for the child which Sarah had named Sky. The baby girl rapidly grew into an older child. A representative of the Fleshkind - Miss Myers - also appeared on Earth, and both she and the Metalkind hunted for Sky. It transpired that the child was really a powerful biological weapon created by the Fleshkind to wipe out the Metalkind. Myers wanted to deploy her, whilst the Metalkind sought to prevent this.
Sky used her powers to harness energy to disable the Metalkind. After the child had succeeded in controlling her powers, defusing her destructive capabilities, the Metalkind escaped and took Miss Myers back to its planet as prisoner.
