Golden Death - the ninth instalment of The Daleks' Master Plan - was first broadcast today in 1966.
It would have been screened on its star's 58th birthday, for 8th January 1908 was the birthdate of William Hartnell.
He had a bit of a holiday this week, as he wasn't featured in the episode which had been recorded the night before (The Abandoned Planet).
There were more Daleks to be seen today in 1972, as Part Two of Day of the Daleks made its debut.
Meanwhile, in 1977, The Face of Evil moved onto its second episode.
