Season 22 - Colin Baker's first full series as the Sixth Doctor - got underway today in 1985 with Part One of the continuity-laden Attack of the Cybermen.
As well as links to most of the previous Cybermen stories, it also featured Lytton from Resurrection of the Daleks, and had a brief visit to the junkyard from An Unearthly Child.
The Time Warrior concluded with its fourth instalment today in 1974, whilst The Horns of Nimon reached its third episode in 1980.
Yesterday we mentioned the opening episode of Castrovalva, and fans didn't have long to wait as Part Two followed today in 1981. The programme had been moved from Saturday evenings, and now screened two episodes per week.
Arc of Infinity delivered its second episode on this date in 1983.
Another season launched on this date - the 21st, in 1984. Warriors of the Deep Part One made its debut.
Moving on to Nu-Who, only Series 12 has broadcast this early in the year, with Spring or Autumn launches preferred. Spyfall Part II arrived today in 2020.
