K is for... Kara

A ruthless businesswoman from the planet Necros. She ran a successful industry which produced a low cost protein which was helping to stave off hunger in this part of the galaxy. She had as a business partner the Great Healer, who ran the planet's other major industry. This was Tranquil Repose, a funerary complex. Most of the inhumations were not dead, however - merely held in suspended animation pending cures for their terminal ailments.
Most of her profits were being diverted to the Great Healer, who was actually the Kaled scientist Davros. He was using the bodies in Tranquil Repose to experiment on creating a new race of Daleks loyal only to him. The leftover bodies were going to Kara to be turned into the food concentrate.
Determined to eliminate Davros and take sole control over Necros' industries, Kara and her assistant Vogel employed an assassin named Orcini to kill him. He was given a transmitter that would signal when he had completed the hit, but it actually contained a powerful bomb. Kara did not intend to pay Orcini, and the bomb would also make doubly sure of Davros' destruction.
Davros guessed that she was plotting against him and so had Vogel exterminated by his Daleks, and Kara brought to Tranquil Repose as prisoner. When he learned that she had intended to double cross him, Orcini stabbed and killed her.

Played by: Eleanor Bron. Appearances: Revelation of the Daleks (1985).
  • Famously, Bron had previously appeared in the series in a cameo role with John Cleese, as a pair of art lovers in City of Death.
