Many happy returns to this wee lad, who has turned 80 today. Born Percy James Patrick Kent-Smith today in 1943, in Dunoon, he changed his name to Sylvester McCoy for professional reasons in the 1970's.
He shares his birthday with his Doctor's companion Ace - Sophie Aldred. Born in Greenwich in 1962, she's 61 today.
Their Survival co-star - Master actor Anthony Ainley - also had his birthday on this date, having been born in Stanmore, West London, on 20th August 1932.
