The Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Susan were entangled in The Velvet Web today in 1964 - the second instalment of The Keys of Marinus.
The Third Doctor was embarking on a space mission in the fifth episode of The Ambassadors of Death, in 1970.
April is proving to be a busy day for Doctor's birthdays. Today we wish Peter Davison's son-in-law a very happy 51st birthday.
David shares his birthday with some notable Doctor Who artists - Camille Coduri (Jackie Tyler) is 57, and Eric Roberts (the 1996 Master) is 66.
As well as these, David is no doubt pleased to also share his birthday with David Whitaker who, as its first story editor, helped shape the series back in 1963, and was responsible for much of the Dalekmania which followed.
