The Power of Three has gained over 2 million additional viewers since the initial overnight figure. This does not count a BBC3 repeat, or i-player. Doctor Who has consistently performed well on i-player for the September period. The final figures for The Angels Take Manhattan should be released at the beginning of the week.
Monday saw the release of The Ambassadors of Death on DVD. They have done a marvelous job in adding and improving the colour for this 1970 story. Those of you who had the VHS will remember how the colour faded in and out. The results are great - but not perfect. The edge of the picture often looks monochrome and flesh tones change - but this is all understandable considering the material which the restoration team had to work with.
A couple of weeks ago, we were hearing how Peter Jackson was keen to direct an episode of Doctor Who, and New Zealand-based series 7 writer Neil Cross offered to write one. Well now Australia is pitching for a piece of the action. A Member of Parliament, George Christensen, has launched a campaign to get the BBC to film in Oz.
Lastly, it was a case of "The Two Doctors" revisited this week when Smith & Tennant bumped into each other at the press night for Arthur Darvill's new play - "Our Boys". (At London's Duchess Theatre until mid-December). Might we be seeing them together again some time soon?
