Owner of a holiday resort called Tranquility Spa. This was built on an "orphan planet" - number 55 - which was a world which could not sustain life and was unsuitable for colonisation. The Spa was constructed within a protective dome, but outside there was very little oxygen.
The Thirteenth Doctor and her companions arrived for a break after Graham won it in a competition. Their arrival coincided with acts of sabotage. The Doctor realised that Kane was keeping something hidden. It transpired that Orphan 55 was really the Earth of the far future. Generations of warfare and pollution had destroyed the planet, and the human race had devolved into savage creatures called Dregs, who had adapted to the new atmosphere. One of the other guests was a young woman named Bella. She turned out to be the saboteur, out for revenge against Kane who was the mother who had abandoned her.
Mother and daughter were reunited in their fight against the Dregs when they broke in en masse.
The Doctor and her companions left before knowing their fate. She pointed out to Graham, Ryan and Yaz that they had seen only one potential future for Earth - one that need not come to pass if the human race looked after it better.
