The two most famous images from Classic Doctor Who - thanks mainly to their prominent inclusion in Target's Doctor Who Monster Book - are the Daleks crossing Westminster Bridge, and the Cybermen walking down the steps near St Paul's Cathedral. Just two days ago we had the anniversary of the episode in which the first featured, and today we have the anniversary of the latter, for The Invasion Part Six premiered on 7th December, 1968.
Five years previously, the third episode of An Unearthly Child made its debut - The Forest of Fear.
Today's other episodes hail from the McCoy era.
Season 24 ended with Part Three of Dragonfire, in 1987, whilst the 25th Anniversary story - Silver Nemesis - also concluded with its third episode.
Today's birthday person featured in one the above episodes. It is the 74th birthday of Wendy Padbury, who played companion Zoe in Patrick Troughton's final year. A couple of years after leaving the show, she played another companion - to Trevor Martin's stage Doctor, in the play Doctor Who and the Daleks in Seven Keys to Doomsday.
