On This Day... 11th November

 

The Ice Warriors made their first appearance on this day in 1967, in the story of the same name. They would go on to become one of the Top 5 monsters (or even Top 3, thanks to the Doctor Who Monster Book, though the Sontarans might want to argue the point).

Also on this date, The Stones of Blood gave us its third instalment in 1978. 

The only episode to have specifically been set on 11th November (or perhaps the Sunday closest to it - Remembrance Sunday) was The Family of Blood.

In 2018, Demons of the Punjab was first broadcast on this day. Nothing to do with World War I (unless you want to regard the Great War as the beginning of the process of decolonisation and end of empire which culminated in the Partition of India), but it at least made people think about other conflicts of the 20th Century.
