It's official - announcement on Sunday at 7pm
A dreadfully kept secret has now been confirmed by the BBC. 7pm GMT on BBC 1 sees a special programme in which Peter Capaldi - sorry, the new Doctor - will be announced.
These two rumours have gone hand in hand, so can we start to think of PC as No.12? If I was a bookie, I'd refuse to pay out if it does turn out to be the case. It's like insider trading.
The BBC leaks like a sieve.
Is it just me, or is there something inherently stupid in giving news sites news a day or so in advance, and then asking them not to reveal said news until a set time. Wouldn't it be a bit more sensible to sit on the news and only release it at the time when you actually want to announce it - in this age of instantaneous information sharing. Maybe the BBC thinks newspapers still need about 8 hours to put the first edition to bed.
If we are going to have to watch a programme on Sunday with an audience full of Doctor fans dressed as Colin Baker or River Song, I am going to do so having recorded it first, on fast forward, with the sound turned down, until the relevant moment. Of the expected 30 minutes, 29 and a bit will be sycophantic drivel about how only this person could possibly take over, how wonderful they are, yadda yadda yadda etc.
You can trust me on this...
What an over inflated load of total crap, the beeb has gone nuts.
ReplyDeleteExpect light entertainment meets Doctor Who. I fear something quite cringe-worthy.
